ARCHIVED - New Covid restrictions in the Region of Murcia from September 25
There will be no limit on social gatherings and non-essential businesses will be able to open until 3am in the Region of Murcia
After weeks of steadily decreasing Covid figures and an increasing number of vaccinated residents, the authorities in the Region of Murcia have announced that several restrictions will be relaxed from Saturday September 25.
One of the decisions taken by the Covid Monitoring Committee during the meeting on Monday September 20 was to extend opening hours for the nightlife and hospitality sectors, something which the industry has been requesting for some time.
Bars, restaurants and night clubs can now open for an additional hour; until 3am, but all other restrictions, such as occupancy limits and maximum number of customers per table, will remain unchanged. Dancing and standing at the bar will still not be allowed.
The 10-person limit on social gatherings both in public and in private will also be removed from Friday at midnight, as will the prohibition of socializing with friends and family between the hours of 2am and 6am.
These more relaxed rules are a step towards normality in the Region of Murcia, but there are still restrictions in place for parties and celebrations: in low alert level municipalities gatherings can have a maximum of 200 guests outside and 100 guests inside while medium and high alert municipalities are only allowed 100 guests outside and 50 inside.
