Night-time closures on Seville's Centenario Bridge due to expansion works
Traffic diversions in Seville will be in place until May 30

During the closures, vehicles will be redirected to alternative routes, which will be clearly signposted. Traffic coming from the A-4 towards Huelva will be diverted at exit 549 (SE-30 Puente Centenario/SE-40/A-49 Huelva/A-66 Mérida) to the lock road (SE-31), with access to the SE-30 via the roundabout at Calle José Delgado Brackenbury. Drivers heading from Dos Hermanas on the SE-40 will follow the same diversion after passing the A-4 junction.

The expansion project is progressing well, with the bridge’s width being increased. Recent milestones include the erection of the new metal segment closest to Cádiz on 23 April, with the segment near Huelva expected to be raised around mid-May. These changes mark the beginning of the replacement of the original cables, which will improve the bridge’s capacity and safety for years to come.
The government has emphasised that all closures are necessary to ensure worker safety during these essential upgrades. The work will continue through May, and drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
