Storm Francis forces Orihuela Costa to postpone Three Kings parade
The parade has been moved from Monday to Tuesday with a new starting point at Zenia Boulevard

Families across Orihuela Costa will need to wait an extra day to welcome the Three Kings after the the Town Hall took the decision to postpone Monday's parade due to the dreadful weather battering southern Spain.
Storm Francis has been wreaking havoc across the south for the last few days, bringing torrential rain and driving winds that show no signs of letting up. With the forecast still looking grim throughout Alicante province on Monday January 5, officials made the sensible call to move the event to a safer day.
The parade, which was originally scheduled to depart from the town hall in Playa Flamenca and make its way to Zenia Boulevard Commercial Centre on Monday evening, will now take place on Tuesday January 6 instead. The new start time is 7pm, giving families a slightly later slot than originally planned.
There's also been a change to the route itself. Rather than following the usual journey from Playa Flamenca, the parade will now begin directly at Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre. After the procession, Their Majesties the Three Kings will hold a reception at Orihuela Costa Town Hall, where they'll say their goodbyes to the children and share a final moment with them before continuing their magical journey.
The weather over the past few days has been absolutely miserable across southern Spain, with relentless rainfall and fierce winds making conditions dangerous for outdoor events. The last thing anyone wants is to see families and children getting drenched and blown about while trying to enjoy what should be a magical evening.
For anyone planning to attend the Orihuela Costa parade, officials are suggesting that families arrive a little earlier than they might normally, as the new La Zenia starting point could mean larger crowds gathering in one spot.
