Three Málaga police officers hospitalised after accidentally eating drug-laced sweets
The officers unknowingly ingested the drugs and had to be admitted to hospital
Three National Police officers in Málaga were hospitalised after accidentally consuming drug-laced gummy sweets. The incident occurred last week following a raid on a cannabis club in Fuengirola, where officers seized various items, including sweets suspected to contain narcotics. While most seized items were properly processed and stored at the police station, one bag of gummy sweets was inadvertently left unlabelled.Later, officers returning from duty found the unlabelled bag in the coordinators' room and, unaware of its contents according to police sources, consumed the sweets. Shortly after, three officers began feeling unwell and were taken to the hospital, where they received treatment for drug intoxication. Fortunately, all three were discharged a few hours later.
The incident has prompted an internal review within the police force to understand how the oversight occurred.
