They say there’s no fool like an old fool, and that there’s nothing else like a fool in love, but what happens when we put the two together? Early evening strollers through the streets of Zamora could probably give us a good idea since they were scandalised this week by the sight of two OPAs having sex on a park bench in full view of anyone who cared to look.

On Thursday July 26, the Plaza de la Mainra pedestrian promenade just after Requejo de Zamora avenue was thronged with walkers hoping to cool down in a little early evening breeze after a hot day. What they hadn’t bargained for was the elderly couple parked on a bench, blatantly engaging in oral sex.

Following a barrage of calls and complaints from stunned locals, the National Police rushed to the plaza and broke up the amorous affair, but not before dozens of passers-by photographed and filmed the elderly woman performing fellatio on her male companion.

While the pair now face charges for indecent exposure, most of the social media commenters were more amused than offended.

“I hope that grandparents live forever,” one user wrote.

“There is no age limit on sex,” joked another.
