ARCHIVED - Winter bus timetable to be extended in Cartagena and the Mar Menor area
Public transport connections between Cartagena and other municipalities in Murcia are going to be improved
Public transport in the municipality of Cartagena is going to be improved this winter after the Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, announced a series of new routes.
Buses running between Los Alcázares, Fuente Álamo, San Javier, San Pedro, Torre Pacheco, La Unión and Cartagena are all going to be reinforced, as well as other connections between the city and coastal areas in the region.
These improvements to bus schedules are partly due to the fact that some of the Cercanías train lines in the Region of Murcia are no longer running, meaning that buses are having to pick up some of the slack and the local council have stated that they are focused on making sure that sufficient public transport is on offer throughout the year.
As for La Manga and Cabo de Palos, the winter timetables of the Cabo de Palos-Cartagena line and the Cabo de Palos-Veneziola line are both going to be extended, which will be welcome news for locals as the buses are normally reduced to the bare minimum during the colder months.
