The Guardia Civil in Roquetas de Mar (Almeria) have arrested an Albanian fugitive wanted by the authorities in his country for terrorism.

As reported by the police in Spain, the arrest came under the framework of operation ‘Azabache’ and took place on Wednesday July 20 after agents on a routine Citizen Security patrol stopped the man for “suspicious” activity.
The weapon he was carrying cannot be legally possessed, nor can it be covered by any type of licence, so he could also be charged in Spain with the crime of illegal possession of prohibited weapons under article 563 of the Penal Code.
Likewise, at the time of the arrest, the man made death threats against the agents, the Guardia Civil said in a statement.
As a result of international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the investigation has established that the detainee was active on social networks and used them to launch calls to commit terrorist acts.
The detainee was brought before the courts and remanded in custody without bail.
