ARCHIVED - Balearic Islands insists on negative PCR test from Spanish domestic tourists
Anyone coming from a region with more than 100 cases per 100,000 of population must provide a negative PCR
The Balearic Islands government has announced that travellers coming from other Spanish regions will have to prove they have tested negative for coronavirus in order to be allowed to enter the offshore islands.
As of Thursday (4 March), anyone arriving at ports and airports in the Balearic Islands from other Spanish regions with an accumulated incidence rate of over 100 coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants will have to provide a negative coronavirus test result. The regions will be listed on Thursday using the incidence rates provided by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
As of Monday only travellers from Murcia, La Rioja and Extremadura would have met the criteria for entry without the need for a PCR; residents from all other regions of Spain would have had to provide a negative PCR test (see below).
