ARCHIVED - Calpe will continue to have permanent mobile ITV station in 2022
The Marina Alta municipality has asked concessionary company Applus Iteuve to continue carrying out vehicle inspections 365 days a year

Calpe will continue to have a 365-day-a-year permanent mobile station for ITVs (Spanish MOT vehicle inspection) in 2022 following an agreement with the concessionary company Applus Iteuve to continue providing the service which began earlier this year.
The company will continue providing vehicle inspections in the town next year following the "good results achieved in 2021".
Applus Iteuve's area manager Alejandro Pastor explained that between January 1 and the end of November, more than 11,000 vehicles from nearby Calpe and nearby municipalities passed through the mobile station.
Calpe Town Council requested a permanent mobile ITV station a year ago, taking advantage of the fact that the Valencia region agreed to extend the period of permanence of mobile ITV stations in towns due to the health crisis.
Until this year, Calpe had a mobile ITV station for five months of the year, but the agreement means Marina Alta region will have two ITV stations: a permanent one in Ondara, and the mobile station in Calpe.
"The permanent continuation of this service will mean motorists in Calpe do not have to travel to other municipalities, which is appreciated in these times of the pandemic," said Calpe Mayor, Ana Sala.
