ARCHIVED - Covid incidence rate in the region of Valencia rises slightly: Alicante Covid update April 5
120 new cases in the region of Valencia and 17 in the province of Alicante
The most recent daily update posted on Monday (April 5) by the regional government reports 120 new Covid cases in the Comunidad Valenciana and 16 in the province of Alicante, where the current 7-day average of new daily cases is 43.85, taking into account the latest figures.
No new data regarding covid-related deaths and hospital occupancy was reported in Monday’s update in the Comunidad Valenciana.
The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days in the region of Valencia is increasing, albeit slowly, and the most recent figure reported on April 5 is 33.69. The national incidence rate reported a slightly larger increase: from 151.79 on Saturday (April 3) to the current figure of 163.37, so the level of coronavirus in the region is around a fifth of the national average.
The Spanish regions with the lowest rates, after the Comunidad Valenciana, are the Region of Murcia (62.13), the Balearics (65.55) and Galicia (66.66). On the other hand, the regions with the highest incidence rates are Navarra (352.24), Madrid (272.66) and the Basque Country (271.88), which are all in the extreme risk zone.
