ARCHIVED - New Covid cases and hospital patient numbers fall in Valencia region: Update June 11
182 new infections have been reported in the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellon in the last 24 hours.
The number of new Covid cases reported in the Valencia region has fallen slightly in the last 24 hours, as has the number of hospitalised patients.
According to the regional health authority, there have been 182 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR or antigen testing, down 14 on yesterday, bringing the total number of positives to 396,514.
Of the new cases, 55 have been recorded in Alicante province, 71 in Valencia and 22 in Castellon.
On a positive note, 175 Covid patients have been discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours, meaning 121 people remain in hospitals across the region, four less than the last update.
As the vaccination campaign continues to be rolled out, with 40 to 49 years-old receiving their jabs this week, a total of 2,194,868 people have now received one dose of the Covid vaccine and 1,252,915 people are fully immunised.
While a total of 398,563 people have recovered from the virus since the start of the pandemic in the Valencia region, there have been 7,445 Covid-related deaths with one recorded in the last seven days.
