ARCHIVED - Over 300,000 more vaccinations this week in the region of Valencia
Most of the vaccines will be used as first and second doses for the 40 to 59-year-olds
The latest figures published by the Valencian regional health authorities indicated that 2,194,868 residents of the region had been given at least one dose of Covid vaccine and 1,252,915 were fully vaccinated; the campaign set to advance even further in the Comunidad Valenciana as medical staff in the region are set to administer a total of 306,092 doses of different Covid vaccines this week (June 14-20).
Of these 306,092 doses, the majority (242,123) are Pfizer vaccines, while 39,014 are Moderna vaccines, 10,190 are of the AstraZeneca variety and the remaining 14,765 are Janssen vaccines, which only require one dose.
The Pfizer vaccines will be used mainly as first and second injections for the 40 to 59-year-olds, and some of these vaccines have also been reserved for different companies, who will use them to inoculate employees in the same age range.
Moderna doses will also be used for those in the 40 to 59 age group, born between 1962 and 1981, while the AstraZeneca doses will be used as second doses for those aged under 60 who have already had one shot of AstraZeneca.
In addition, 14,765 people aged between 40 and 59 will be vaccinated with a single shot of the Janssen vaccine.
1,300,000 Pfizer vaccines were delivered to Spain on Monday, amongst them a direct shipment of 128,000 doses into Manises airport in Valencia destined for the Valencia region (see image).
