ARCHIVED - Wet weekend with storms ahead in Valencia region
Aemet has issued a yellow alert for the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellon.
Rain and storms are expected across the Valencia region this weekend, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
On Saturday, June 5, the sky will be cloudy and overcast, with showers accompanied by storms, predominantly in inland areas during the afternoon.
Minimum temperatures across the region - around 18 degrees Celsius in the afternoon - are not expected to vary much, though maximum temperatures will drop to about 23 degrees, with easterly winds on the coast.
Inland areas of all three provinces in the Valencia region have been placed on yellow alert from 2pm until midnight on Saturday due to the fact 20 litres per sqm pf rain could fall in an hour, with possible hail.
Moving into Sunday, June 6, Aemet forecasts a cloudy start with showers and occasional thunderstorms, though these are likely to ease off into early afternoon.
Minimum temperatures look unchanged while maximum temperatures could rise slightly, especially in inland areas, and winds will be moderate.
