Brand-new street lights for La Manga del Mar Menor
The San Javier Town Council is to make improvements to 985 streetlights
The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, along with the Councillor for Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz, and the Councillor for La Manga del Mar Menor, José Guerrero, have visited the works being carried out by the Town Council to renovate 985 streetlights in La Manga del Mar Menor.
The works, which are costing 1,080,000 euros, are 60% complete and are expected to be finished within the next five months. The Mayor confirmed that “the works are progressing at a good pace,” including the 14 kilometres of cabling to house the new public lighting network included in the project.
Luengo also explained that in certain areas of Gran Vía and in the northern part of La Manga del Mar Menor, the project includes the replacement of lighting and poles or columns “which will greatly improve both the image and energy efficiency in the area”.
He continued by stating that these works correspond to one of the three lots awarded by the Council for the replacement of lighting throughout the municipality, which will cost more than 4.7 million euros.
