Christmas arrived in Benidorm at the weekend with the first event in a packed programme of festive events, activities, shows and attractions.
Hundreds of people attended the inauguration of the Christmas Square (Plaza de la Navidad) in the Plaza de Sus Majestades The Kings of Spain, and enjoyed a family Christmas party.

The event marked the start of festivities which will last until January 6.
Here's a guide to what's going on in Benidorm over the next few weeks:
Saturday December 11, 4.30pm and 6.30pm: 'Magic Dreams' Musical Show at Julio Iglesias Auditorium, Parque de l'Aigüera.
Sunday December 12, 12 noon: Christmas Concert by the Societat Musical 'L'Illa' of Benidorm at Julio Iglesias Auditorium, Parque de l'Aigüera.
Sunday December 12, 5.30pm: Christmas Concert by the Societat Musical 'La Nova' of Benidorm at Julio Iglesias" Auditorium, Parque de l'Aigüera.
Saturday December 18, 5.30pm: Concert by Paula Dalli 'Magica Navidad', accompanied by the Symphonic Band of the Societat Musical 'La Nova' of Benidorm at Julio Iglesias" Auditorium.
Sunday December 19. 12 noon: Christmas Festival by the Municipal Dance Conservatory of Benidorm at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Tuesday December 21. 5.30pm: Dance Studio of Pilar Segura performance at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Wednesday December 22, 6.30pm: Boggie Block Dance Studio show, Julio Iglesias" Auditorium.
Sunday December 26, 5.30pm: Musical Show 'Tributo Frozen 2: The Adventure in Concert at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Friday, December 31: Big New Year's Eve Party. Levante Beach.
Saturday January 1, 5.30pm: Musical Show "Campanilla, Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Sunday January 2, 12 noon: New Year's Concert by the Benidorm Musical Union Symphonic Band with Marlene Aquino at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Wednesday January 5, 6pm: Three Kings Parade ending at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
Other festive events and activities include:
Benidorm Plaza de la Navidad (Christmas Square)
Saturday December 4 to Thursday January 6, the square will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a Christmas market, ice rink, attractions and the "world's biggest" Three Wise Men".
Nativity Scenes in Benidorm
Saturday December 4 to Thursday January 6
World's largest Nativity Scene in Plaza S.S.M.M. Los Reyes de España.
A traditional Nativity Scene made by the Asociación Belenista de la Marina Baixa will also be on display in the Town Hall, a third will be exhibited in Calle Tomás Ortuño, and a fourth will be on show in Calle Mercurio.
Santa's Grotto
The 'House of Christmas' at Casa-Museu l'Hort de Colón (Hort de Colón House and Museum) will be open from Saturday December 4 to Thursday January 6, with morning visits by Santa Claus on December 18, 19, 22, 23 and 24.
Christmas Porrat Fair
Saturday December 4 to Thursday January 6 at Elche Park.
All shows of the events are free of charge until full capacity is reached, with Covid measures in place.
